Year 9 Options
Our students select their GCSE courses during the Spring Term of Year 9.
All students will follow a broad and balanced curriculum which will include the following core subjects:
- English Language
- English Literature
- Mathematics
- Combined Science
- Physical Education (not examined)
- Wellbeing (not examined)
Students must then select one subject from two of the following subgroups.

- French
- Spanish
3. Arts & Technology
- Art and Design
- Art Photography
- Construction
- Design Technology
- Drama
- Hair and Beauty
- Hospitality & Catering
Finally, students can pick any of the subjects not chosen above or one of the following:
- Business Studies
- Creative iMedia
- NCFE in Health and Fitness
- Health and Social Care
- GCSE Physical Education
- Triple Science
- Wider Key Skills
Our Options evening for parents and students takes place on Tuesday 10th March 2026 with option forms to be completed electronically by Friday 27th March 2026.
