SEN/D and Inclusion

Some students may need additional support to reach their full potential. For students who have been identified as having Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, we will ensure that the additional help they need to flourish and achieve is put into place, whatever they need to achieve.

The Inclusion Department at King's Academy Prospect manages the educational needs of all students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

This is provided in a number of ways including in-class support, targeted intervention and alternative provision. Where necessary, the department can also make referrals to external agencies and arrange for testing and diagnosis of SEND.

Parents/Carers should contact Mr James Birk, SENCo in the first instance at school.

Sources of Support

Brighter Futures for Children SEN Department gives children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families information about what support and services are available in the local area.

It will help parents, carers and young people to see clearly the range of services, support and information that are available to them in their local area and understand how to access them.

Reading IASS provides information advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people (aged 0-25) who have special educational needs and/or disability (SEND).
